Celebrate

Beautiful backgrounds are easy to create with the background dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  For my card today I used the Els van de Burgt Diamond Background; it was die cut using white card stock.

Use the smallest Fitted Squares die set; die cut an opening in the top half of the die cut Diamond Background.  For placement, see picture above.  To create a frame for this opening, use the same die and the one larger.  Tape the two dies on white card stock, centering the smaller one inside the larger die.  Run through die cutting machine.  Use 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive around the edges and attach over the die cut opening in the background.

For a glittery shine behind the beautiful die cut, I used a piece of white card stock, the same size as the die cut background, and covered it with Clear Double Sided Adhesive.  The protective covering was pull off and Blue Streak Silk Microfine Glitter was poured over the adhesive, then polished with my fingers to bring out the shine.  Using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive around the edges of the die cut frame, it was attached over the glittered square opening.

Use the Dancing Butterflies die set to die cut one black butterfly.  Attach the butterfly, using a small piece of Clear Double Sided Adhesive attached to the body, to the center of the glittered square.

Attach the glittered Diamond Background piece to a larger white card.  Attach the die cut 'Celebrate' sentiment under the background.

For a finished appearance, use one of the black Peel Off Sticker Assorted Borders over the Diamond Background and along the sides, as shown.

The products used are linked below.

Such a different look from your usual creations! A nice break from floral cards. This would make a good masculine one.
