Birdhouse

The Robins and other birds are out!   They say once we see Robins, that it is the first sign of Spring.
It was fun creating a scene with a variety of Elizabeth Craft Designs die sets.  This is the card I designed for my Elizabeth Craft Designs, design team die cutting  blog post.

This is a 6-inch card.  A white piece of card stock was cut 5 1/2 square for the front.  Susan's Earth Sky Stencil was used to sponge on clouds and grass, then the edges were scored to create a finished edge.

The Joset Designs Birdhouse die set was used to die cut the birdhouse.  For the house, I glued three pieces of white card stock together then die cut the birdhouse three times.  The three stacks of houses were glued together for a dimensional house.  One more white house was die cut and colored with Oxide Distress Ink.  A white gel pen was used to draw the white strips on the house.  The trim pieces were glued to the house.  The stand was die cut three times and glued together then added behind the bird house.

Use the Love Birds die set to die cut the birds on the branches.  Color with markers.  Add a black Prill to the eye of each bird.

Die cut three fences using the CountryScapes Nantucket Arbor & Picket Fence die set.  Use a white gel pen to draw a wood grain design on the fence.  Attach the fence across the bottom of the card as shown.

Use the CounryScapes Garden Edges Tulip die set to die cut the tulip edge.  I die cut the leaves using green card stock, then die cut the tulips using bright pink card stock and glued them over the green die cut.  The Tulip Edge was glued at the base of the fence.

Attach the Birdhouse with the base of the stand along the bottom of the card, as shown.  Attach the Lovebirds die cut as shown at the bottom of the birdhouse.

Use Susan's Garden Notes Dogwood die set to create two dogwood branch.  You can watch Susan's Garden Notes Dogwood YouTube Video at this LINK for instructions on how to assemble the dogwood branch.  I created two dogwood branches and used a small branch at the bottom of the larger branch that was attached to the card.  Save the large branch cut off for another project.

Use Susan's Garden Notes Bugs & Butterflies die set to die cut five of the smallest butterflies and arrange around the birdhouse and dogwood branch.
