Season's Greetings

Today I have a Pop Up card I created using Karen Burniston's Anita  Frames Pop Up Die Set, Labels & Circles, Holiday Charms, Pop It Up Merry Christmas die sets and her Holiday Clear Stamp Set.  For the borders I used Els van de Burgt Studio Garland 2 die set.

This Pop Up card looks like it would be complicated to assemble, but it is so easy to create and is such a WOW card when opened!!  You can watch Karen's Pop it Ups 1206 Anita Frames Pop-up Die Set Video at this LINK.

To decorate the inside of the card, I used the Pop It Up Merry Christmas die set for the die cut Christmas sentiment, and the blue flourishes. The Labels & Circles die set was used to die cut two blue labels and the Holiday Charms die set used to die cut the tree out of blue Shimmer Sheetz; also the snowflakes and the gift dies from the same set.  Along the edges, the Snowflake Holiday Garland 2 die was used to die cut two garlands, then Peel Off Sticker Glitter Dots were added to the center of each snowflake.

To decorate the front of this card, the A Way  With Words - Season's Greetings die was used.  The trees were die cut using the Holiday Charms die set.  Along the top, a small piece of the snowflake Holiday Garland 2 was used.

I hope you will watch Karen Burniston's YouTube Video and have fun creating your Anita Frames Pop-Up card.

Sparkly Circle Background

There are three new Els van de Burgt Studio Background die sets: Chevron, Heart, and Circle.  There are so many different ways to use these background stamps, but today I wanted to show you what I did with the Circle Background after watching the Technique Friday With Els YouTube Video - Sparkly Circle Background.

I followed Els instructions for die cutting the Circle Background using to sheets of cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive.  You can see this video at this LINK.    The colors of Silk Microfine Glitter I used include:  Lavender Ice, Lavender, Silver, Warm Diamond, and Soft Green.

After I completed the background following Els instructions, using all the glitters except the green, I die cut another Circle Background and used only some of the die cut circles, which were glittered with the Soft Green Glitter.  They were attached in the center of a few of the lavender circles.

Using the dies from the Els van de Burgt Studio Entwined Oval die sets, Snowflakes were die cut using a piece of card stock that was covered with the Clear Double Sided Adhesive.  All the snowflakes were covered with Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.  Some of the Snowflakes were glued together.  Snowflakes were added to some of the lavender circles.  A pearl was attached to the center of each snowflake.

Using the Holiday Garland 1 and Holiday Garland 2 die sets, the Holly Leaf Garland was die cut and glittered with the Silk Microfine Soft  Green Glitter.  These garlands were glued to the left side of the card front.

Using  Susan's Garden Notes Poinsettia and Garden Notes Small Poinsettia dies, two flowers were die cut, using white card stock.  The base of each petal was colored using light green PanPastel.  The leaves under the poinsettias were also colored, using green PanPastels.

Working with these new background frames creates beautiful backgrounds for your projects.

Autumn Serenity

Autumn is such a beautiful time to travel and view all the beautiful colors of the season, have fun going to the pumpkin patch and baking/eating wonderful things such as pumpkin bread or chocolate chip pumpkin cookies, that are available this time of year.

Today my card was created using the A Way With Words 4-Seasons Autumn die combined with one of the stamps from the Quietfire Creations Garden Bench Collection.

The wreath was created by die cut two of the Els van de Burgt Studio Entwined Circles. Thinking of how much fun it is to go out to the pumpkin patch to see the variety of pumpkins stacked high,  I added pumpkins die cut using Els van de Burgt Studio Pumpkin die set. For the Fall leaves, I used Susan's Garden Notes Woodland Leaves die set.  A few Elizabeth Craft Design Peel Off Stickers were used behind the pumpkin patch.

I hope you are enjoying this colorful season!

Pumpkin  (The pumpkin dies are now out of stock and will be replaced next year with a new pumpkin die set.  You can purchase the Pumpkin Peel Off Stickers to complete this project.)

Noel Wreath

Have you started working on your Christmas cards yet?   Here is another idea using the new Entwined Circles from the Els van de Burgt Studio collection.  I have used the circles to create a wreath for the Susan's Garden Notes Small Poinsettia.  Behind the flower, I used Susan's Garden Notes Mistletoe, Garden Notes Whitepine Boughs & Pinecone and Els van de Burgt Studio Berry Branch die sets.  The beautiful die cut sentiment is the A Way With Words - Noel.

Start with a 6×6 inch card.  The background for the wreath is a piece of Els van de Burgt Studio Through The Lens – Wood  card stock.

Die cut petals using Susan’s Garden Notes Small Poinsettia die. Shape the petals using Susan’s Flower Tool Kit.  I used Susan’s Garden Prills in the center of the flower.

Use the Garden Notes Whitepine Boughs & Pinecone die set to die cut as many pine boughs as you want.  I used two shades of green card stock – a darker green bough is on the bottom with a lighter green bough layered on top.

Use the Garden Notes Whitepine Boughs & Pinecone die set to die cut pieces for four pinecones. Use Susan’s Garden Notes Mistletoe die set to die cut mistletoe to layer behind the poinsettia.

Use Els van de Burgt Studio Berry Branch to die cut two branches out of green card stock.  You may add Wedding Dress Pico Embellisher irRESISTible to shape the berries, or use white punched circles.  I used a fine line marker to add a black dot to the ends of the berries.

Use Els van de Burgt Studio largest Entwined Circle die to die cut four brown circles.  Attached the circles to the Wood cardstock to form a wreath.

Assemble all the die cut pine boughs, mistletoe and berry branches on the lower left corner of the wreath.  Add the Small Poinsettia and the pine cones.

Use the A Way With Words – Noel die to cut the sentiment out of Gold Shimmer Sheetz.  Attach it inside the wreath as shown.

Let's Have Some Halloween Fun

PopUp cards are always so much fun to receive!  Halloween is almost here and I thought I would show you a card I designed using Karen Burniston's Twist Circle Popup die set.  I am having a problem going to YouTube this morning to get a link for you, but you can go to YouTube and Search for Karen Burniston Twist Circle Popup, and watch her video for complete, easy instructions for creating this PopUp card.  The dies I used from Elizabeth Craft Designs to decorate the inside of this card include Karen Burniston's:

This is the front of the PopUp card.  The products used for this include

and black circles left on the Sticker Sheet, once corners are pulled off; these were placed on the label.

 Happy Halloween!

Good Friends are Like Snowflakes

Isn't this a beautiful sentiment!  This is the card I designed for my Quietfire Creations Design Team Blog Post at this LINK.  I used Suzanne Cannon's "Good Friends are Like Snowflakes" rubber stamp and her A Way With Words "Let It Snow" die set.
Good Friends are Like Snowflakes - Mounted

This sentimentt was stamped onto white card stock using VersaMark Ink and silver embossed.  To create a frame, Dotted Scallop Oval Rectangles die set was used to die cut around the sentiment.  A larger Dotted Scallop Oval Rectangle was used to die cut a silver glittered frame.

For the background three layers of card stock were used:  blue, silver glittered and a piece of snowflake design paper.  The Oval Frames were attached with dimensional tape.

Let it Snow - Metal Cutting Dies

To bring out the snowflake theme, I used the A Way With Words - Let It Snow die and used only the "snow" die cut.  This was die cut using silver glitter card stock.

Three large snowflakes were die cut from silver glitter card stock and added around the oval frame.  Small silver sticker snowflakes were attached on the oval and around the frame.  Glitter Dot Peel Off Stickers were added to the snowflakes.

Snowballs 4 Sale

Today I have a fun snow scene using a variety of dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs.   The idea started by creating a cute snowman using Susan's CountryScapes Build A Snowman die set and the A Way With Words - Let It Snow die, and lots of glitter.

This is a 6x6 inch card.  A frame was created by cutting a 6 inch piece of white card stock and lining the edges with Clear Double Sided Adhesive. The Els van de Burget Studio new, largest, Postage Stamp Square was used to die cut a window on this 6 inch square.  The Adhesive was pulled off and Sky Silk Microfine Glitter was used to color the edges.

The A Way With Words - Let it Snow was die cut with adhesive on top of the card stock and also glittered with the Sky Silk Microfine Glitter.

A piece of white card stock 6 x 3, covered with Clear Double Sided Adhesive, was covered with a mixture of Silk Microfine Glitters to represent a "stormy" sky.  Colors of glitter used are:  Faded Denim, Silver, and Warm Diamond.  A little of each color was poured into a small jar and mixed until I felt the color was right for the sky.  This piece was attached to the top of the card.

A 6x6 inch piece of white card stock was used for the next layer up.  Susan's CountryScapes Cloud die was taped at an angle to represent clouds, and die cut.  This piece was attached over the glittered sky -- not much of the gray glittered sky shows, but it helps bring out the clouds.

It is hard to see in the picture, but Susan's CountryScapes Cloud die was also used to die cut several more cloud pieces, which represent snow banks.  These are layered at the bottom of the card and behind the trees.  Also Karen Burniston's Outdoor Edges die set was used to die cut snow banks higher up, behind the snowman, and to create a "land" background under the clouds.

The Els van de Burgt Studio 5 Part Pine die set was used to die cut two sets of trees.  These were die cut with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on one side so I could use Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter on them.

Susan's CountryScapes Build a Snowman die set was used to die cut the three snowman pieces, the scarf, buttons, arms, and nose.  Instead of creating the traditional snowman, I created one looking up - happy to see the snow flakes so he can sell more snowball.

Susan's CountryScapes Nantucket Arbor & Picket Fence die set was used to die cut one fence.  It is painted a light gray.

The CountryScapes Woods 1 die set was used to die cut the bird house. The CountryScapes Woods 2 die set was used to die cut the two tiny birds.

The Snowballs 4 Sale sign was cut out with scissors and lettered with a thin line black marker.  To create the bucket of snowballs, I used the flower pot die from the CountryScapes Backyard 1 die set and covered the top portion of it with snowballs, created by using a paper punch.  A dimensional white embellishment was used to create the snow.

It is always very fun to sit and create a scene using die cuts.  Your imagination will be very creative!

Winter Cardinal

Today I have a card designed using Susan's Garden Notes Birds 1 Cardinal, Country Scapes Nantucket Arber & Picket Fence and Country Scapes Woods 1 die sets. Karen Burniston's Outdoor Edges was used for the snow mounds. Also used is Susan's new Snowstorm and Mounds Stencil and one of the dies from the A Way With Words - 4 Seasons die set was used for the sentiment.  This is a 6x6 inch card.

A piece of light blue card stock was embossed on the top using Susan's Snowstorm Stencil.

Two trees were die cut using the tree die from Susan's Woods 1 die set.

Two snow mounds were die cut out of white card stock using the Outdoor Edges die set.

The picket fence was die cut 6 times.

The two trees were attached to the embossed background.  One of the snow banks was attached on the lower portion of the card.  Next, three of the Nantucket Picket Fence die cuts were attached just above the die cut snow bank.  A second row was attached in front of that fence, slightly alternating the fence so you can see the snow in the background. The other snow bank was attached over the bottom of the fence.

Using Susan's Garden Notes Garden Birds 1 die set, the cardinal was die cut twice.  It was colored using markers.  From the second cardinal die cut, the wing was cut off and attached over the  wing of other cardinal, to make the bird more dimensional.  The Cardinal was attached to the fence with a dimensional glue dot.

Using the A Way With Words 4-Seasons die set, the "Winter" die was used to die cut a gold sentiment.  It was die cut using gold Shimmer Sheetz.  To bring out the snowflakes, a dimensional embellishment was used over the embossed snow, on the fence, the trees and down on the bottom snow bank, then sprinkled with glitter.

Winter Magnolia Wreath

sgdt-oct-10-16
This is the card I designed for my Susan's Garden Club Design Team Blog Post at Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Decorating wreaths is a great tradition.  This type of wreath is probably most popular in the South, but so easy to create a beautiful card by using Susan's Garden Notes Southern Magnolia and Garden Notes Evergreen Wreath die sets.  Here is how the card was created.

Start with a 6x6 inch card base.  Add a slightly smaller red backing to the front.

Garden Notes - Evergreen WreathUse the Garden Notes Evergreen Wreath die set and die cut two wreaths out of green card stock.  Alternate branches, attaching to the card front.

Garden Notes - Whitepine Boughs & Pinecone 4 piece set
Using the Garden Notes Whitepine Bough & Pinecone die set to die cut a lot of pine branches to cover the Evergreen Wreath (making it as full as you want).  Create three Pine cones using dies from this same die set.  For help on how to assemble the pine cones, you can watch Susan's Whitepine Boughs & Pinecone YouTube Video at this LINK.  Attach the pine cones at the top of the wreath.

Garden Notes Southern Magnolia

Use Susan's Garden Notes Southern Magnolia die set and create 3 Magnolias.  You can watch Susan's Southern Magnolia YouTube Video at this  LINK for help in assembling this beautiful flower.  Below is a close up picture of my finished Southern Magnolias.

sg-dt-oct-2016-2
Use Els van de Burgt Studio Berry Branch die set to die cut two branches.  You may color the berries red with a marker, or use  an embellisher as I did, called irRESISTible Pico Embellisher - Love Letter.  Once the berries are dry, attach them under the flowers.  For an extra embellishment, I used a glittery white ribbon to create a ribbon accent on each side of the flowers.  Loop the ribbon three times, twist the ends, and wind thin wire around the end. Attach the ribbon pieces with glue dots.

Use the A Way With Words - 4-Seasons - Winter die to die cut the sentiment out of glossy black card stock.

To finish the card, use Black Corner Peel Off Stickers on the two top corners.

Let It Snow

This card was designed with a red and dark green mat on the front of the card.  On top, is a piece of tan card stock that was torn around the edges, inked and distressed.

The Joset Designs Skates die set was used to die cut the ice skates.  The boots were laced with a long twine, with enough twine left long at the top, so they could be hung up.  The Els van de Burgt Studio Holly Flourish was die cut using White Soft Finish Cardstock and sponged with two shades of green ink.  Red Glitter Peel Off Sticker Dots were applied for the berries.  The Holly Flourishes were attached at the top of the card and arranged so they would fit around the Skates.  The Skate laces were tied in a bow at the top of the card.

For the flowers, Susan's Garden Notes Small Poinsettia dies were used to die cut enough petals to create three poinsettias.

The A Way With Words - Let It Snow die was die cut for the sentiment.

Covered Bridge

Wintertime in the Country.  How fun it was to create a wintery scene using Susan's CountryScapes  Olde Covered Bridge die.

This is a 6x6 inch card.  I die cut the bridge using a piece of wood grain design paper.  Before die cutting it, I attached a piece of Clear Double Sided Adhesive to white card and attached the design paper on top. This gave the bridge stability.   The bridge was die cut again placing it on top of the adhesive covered card stock,  then the roof was cut off.  The covering over the adhesive was pulled off and glittered with Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter, then attached to the bridge.

On a 5 3/4" square piece of card stock, clouds were sponged on using Susan's new Earth & Sky Stencil, then  trees were sponged on using her new Evergreen Groove Stencil and PanPastels.  Blue was sponged on at the bottom of the card to resemble water.  The bridge was held in place where I wanted to attach it, to see where I needed to sponge on brown PanPastel - this is the area that is inside the bridge.  I wanted to create a snowy scene, so that is why I only added brown inside the bridge.  Since the bridge is over water, I used Els van de Burgt Studio Pebbles die to die cut two "rocks" that were glued at each end of the bridge.

Using Susan's CountryScapes Woods 4 Holiday Evergreen & Trimmings die set, four evergreens were die cut.  Only the top portion of the tree was used in some areas.

Using the CountryScapes Critters 1 die set, three cardinals were die cut using red card stock.  They were detailed with a fine line black marker.

One large evergreen was glued to the background, then the bridge was attached with glue dots over the river.  I didn't want that bottom edge of the bridge glued down on the river.  The other evergreens were attached to the card.  The cardinals were attached to the trees.

I spread glue across the road and added Ranger snowflake embossing tinsel.  You are suppose to heat set this, but I didn't because I liked the look for the road.  Next I used Faber Castell  Whipped Spackle to add snow piles around the sides of the road.  A little bit of the Spackle was added in the water and on the trees.  To achieve a snowy scene, I used Wedding Dress irRESISTible Pico Embellisher, to add dots of snow.

To create a frame from this scene, I cut a piece of white card stock 5 3/4" square then used the largest die in the  Els van de Burgt Studio Postage Stamp Squares die set to cut the design.  The Postage Stamp Square die was centered in the 5 3/4" square, taped, then die cut.  Foam Tape was added around the outside edges and attached over the picture.

To outline the white frame, I used Gold Line Peel Off Stickers.  To finish the card, I used the A Way With Words - 4 Seasons die set to die cut "Winter" using Gold Metallic card stock.

It is always fun to use your imagination and tell a story using Susan's CountryScape die sets.

Autumn is a Second Spring

This is the card I designed for my Quietfire Creations design team blog post, which you can see at this LINK.

I love the beautiful stamps by Suzanne Cannon.  Today I have an Autumn card using Suzanne's Autumn is a Second Spring rubber stamp.

The sentiment was stamped on a piece of tan card stock.  The card stock was die cut to fit behind Susan's die cut Garden Notes Round Grapevine Wreath.  This was centered on the card front.

To add fall colors, flowers were created using Susan's Garden Notes Chrysanthemum, and Sunflower dies; Susan's Garden Woodland Leaves dies, plus Els van de Burgt Studio Pumpkin and Berry Branch die sets.

A piece of gunny sack trim was added at the bottom of the wreath and all die cuts arranged around the wreath.  For extra dimension to the Berry Branch, I added dots of Love Letter, irRESISTible Pico Embellisher, by Imagine Crafts.  The leaves were colored using Viva 3D-Stempel-Farbe Stamp Paint.  To complete the card, a small bow was added to the top of the wreath.

Have A Splashing Day!

I'm excited to tell you that the ten new Els van de Burgt Studio dies are now available at Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Entwined Circles

Entwined Ovals

Two of the new products are the Entwined Circles and Entwined Ovals.   I used one of the Entwined Circles as a "hoop" for the Joset Designs Dolphin to jump through.

For the background for the Dolphin, I used Els van de Burgt Studio Dotted Scallop Square die.  Post It Notes were used to create a mask on the bottom of the square to sponge on light blue ink, to resemble water.

Dolphin

The Dolpin was die cut using white Soft Finish Cardstock.  There is a beautiful texture to this card stock that gives the Dolphin a life like look.  Gray Ink was sponged over the Dolphin and one black Prill was added for the eye.  The "splash" was die cut using light blue card stock.  A white opaque markers was used to add white to the edges then a sparkly glitter glued on.  The ball was die cut using white card stock, colored with markers, then Glossy Accents added to the colored portions.   To finish off the card, Joset's Ahoy Sentiments stamp set was used.

This is a perfect card for a masculine card or anyone loving dolphins!

Glittered Christmas Ornaments

Christmas Time is the time for all things sparkly!  My favorite way to add sparkle to my cards, is to use glitter.  My VERY FAVORITE GLITTER to work with is the Silk Microfine Glitter from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  It is fabulous to work with.  Once you have applied it to your project, you never have glitter flaking off on everything!!!

I watched Els Technique Friday YouTube Videos on how to decorate Holiday Ornaments with glitter.  Here are the links to two videos to show you how easy it is to create a variety of beautiful ornaments with the Silk Microfine Glitter:

Using the Els van de Burgt Studio Ornaments Set 2 and Ornaments Set 3, I die cut a lot of the solid ornaments with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on white card stock, as shown in the Video.  Gold Metal Hangers, for the Ornaments were die cut using Gold Shimmer Sheetz.  Now I was ready to play!

I found it hard to stop creating different Ornaments, because there are so many different combination of colors you can use, and also different die cuts you can choose for decoration.

Holiday Garlands 2

To add the Snowflake Garland on my ornaments, I  used the Holiday Garlands 2 die set, to die cut white card stock covered with Clear Double Sided Adhesive.  The covering was pulled up on the ornament and the portion of the Garland I wanted on the Ornament was laid down, then pressed into the adhesive with a larger piece of the Adhesive Covering - you don't want to get your finger prints in the adhesive. Leave the Adhesive Covering on the die cut trim.  The bottom of the Ornament was glittered, being careful to keep it on just the bottom portion.  Next the glitter was added to the top of the ornament.  The center of the die cut garland was removed and glitter added.  You always want to add your lightest glitter last, so the covering on the die cut snowflake and ribbon was removed and Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter added.  Each color of glitter needs to be rubbed in well, and the ornament wiped with a Swifter to remove any extra glitter before proceeding to the next color.  All of this is explained in Els Technique Friday Videos.  A Peel Off Dot Sticker was added to the center of each snowflake in the garland.

Els van de Burgt Studio Sprig with Berries die set was used to die the Evergreen branches.  There are six branches on this card.  They were attached to the upper left side of the card front.  Thin gold string was added to the top of each ornament and the ornament hung from the branches; a glue dot held the ornament in place.  Glue was added to the branches and glitter added for a snowy effect.

The A Way With Words - Seasons Greeting die set was used for the sentiment.  It was die cut using gold card stock.

Have fun adding glitter to your ornaments!

Christmas Is the Day - Mounted

For my card I have used one of Suzanne's new stamps - Christmas is the Day, which is actually attached to the inside of the window of this card.  Over the die cut window is a piece of acetate that has a piece of Glitterfoil attached over it.  A frame for the opening was die cut using two sizes of Stitched Frames.

The gold Christmas die cut sentiment was die cut using Suzanne's A Way With Words "Merry Christmas - 2" die.  To help elevate this sentiment, a second Christmas was die cut using Fun Foam and the two pieces glued together.

To decorate the card further, Susan's Garden Notes Small Poinsettia dies were used for the flower and Els van de Burgt Studio Holiday Garlands 2 die set used for the border on the side and the additional snowflakes.

When you open the card, you will see the gold embossed sentiment that shows through the window on the front of the card.  At the bottom, another Holiday Garland was added.
