Two More Ornament Tags

As promised yesterday, I have the other two tags I created using the Elizabeth Craft Designs Ornament Set 5.

The tags were die cut using the Soft Finish Cardstock.  The front of this tag was embossed with the Sprig Embossing Folder.  I sponged the edges and Sprigs with Bundled Sage Distress Ink.  The solid part of this ornament was die cut using white card stock that had Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape attached to the front side.  The adhesive cover was removed, and I covered it with Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.  The top part of the ornament was die cut using Gold Metallic Shimmer Sheetz that had the Double Sided Adhesive Tape attached to the back of the Shimmer Sheetz. I used the Metal Adapter Sheet for a better cut.   Before attaching the decorative portion of the ornament, I colored the Holly and Berries with Copic Markers. Did you know you can color Shimmer  Sheetz?  I added color twice to achieve a dark color.  I love how it turned out.  Once colored, I pulled out the extra die cut  pieces around the holly/berries, and attached it to the glittered background.

To match the embossed Sprigs, I die cut Garden Notes Whitepine Bough and attached at the top of the tag for dimension.  A gold cord was attached to the hanger of the ornament, and was glued under the pine bough.  I die cut the bow from the Ornament Set 3 set, using Gold Metallic Shimmer Sheetz that also had Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the back.  Both the corners and the design for the top hanger on the tag were die cut using Gold Metallic Shimmer Sheetz.  I know in the photo that the corners look silver, but they are really gold.  The three little pieces, at the bottom of the tag, are discards from other die cut pieces.  Gold Cording was added at the top of the card.

This is the same die cut ornament, but love how different it looks.  The ornament was die cut using Gold Metallic Shimmer Sheetz with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on the back.   I did not use the Metal Adapter Plate, so it didn't cut all the way through.  I didn't want to pull out the extra pieces around the holly/berries, because I wanted a gold ornament. The holly and berries were colored with Copic markers. The adhesive cover was pulled off and the gold ornament was attached to the solid die cut ornament from this set, for stability. A gold cord was added to the hanger.

The Tags & More 1 tag was die cut using Soft Finish Cardstock and the lower portion embossed with the Lots of Dots Embossing Folder.  The red bow (Four Bows die set) was die cut using white card stock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the front.  True Red Silk Microfine Glitter was added to the adhesive. The bow was attached over the gold cord with a glue dot.

At the bottom of the card I added the Holly Border that was die cut using Gold Metallic Shimmer Sheetz.  The Holly was detailed using Susan's Flower Tool Kit, then colored the same as the holly/berries in the ornament.  At the top of the card I added one of the pieces from the tag set for the gold cording to go through.  Christmas Gold Peel Off Stickers were added.

I am very happy with the four totally different tags created with the Ornament Set 5 and Tags & More 1 - Lace die sets.

Christmas Tags

A lot of us have started purchasing Christmas gifts.  Now it is time to make tags.  Today I used the Elizabeth Craft Designs Ornament  Set 5 and the Tags & More 1 - Lace dies to create two very different tags. I will explain how I created each tag below.

Tags & More 1 – Lace (951)

Ornament Set 5 (1066)
Above are the two die set used.

For the detailed ornament design,  both tags were die cut using Gold Metallic Shimmer Sheets.  They were die cut with Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the back.  The back ornament, for this purple one, was die cut using Purple Iris Iridescent Shimmer Sheetz.  The Gold design was attached over the Shimmer Sheetz.  I used Elizabeth Craft Purple Peel Off Dots in the circles of the die cut.  For the background on this tag, I embossed a piece of white card stock with the Heart Strings Embossing Folder and cut it to fit the tag.  At the top and bottom of the embossed piece, I added a strip of the Purple Iris Iridescent Shimmer Sheetz.  At the top of the tag, die cut Garden Notes Whitepine Bough were attached.  A gold cord was strung through the ornament loop and attached at the top of the pine bough.  A gold cord bow was attached with glue dots then a Star Peel Off Sticker was added just above the bow.  Gold Cording was also added at the top of the tag.  Merry Christmas Peel Of f Stickers were added at the bottom.

Now for a totally different look using the same dies.

I used the same Tags & More 1 dies to create this tag.  The bottom of the tag was embossed using the Snowflake Embossing Folder. The edges of the tag were sponged with Tea Dye Distress Ink. The ornament was created by die cutting the intricate design using Gold Metallic Shimmer Sheets with Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the back.  You need to use the Metal Adapter plate to achieve a good cut.  The back of the ornament was die cut using white card stock that had the Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the front, so I could add Copper Silk Microfine Glitter.  The gold die cut was attached over the glitter.  A gold cord was attached to the top of the ornament so it could hang from the Garden Notes Whitepine Bough.  A speckled poinsettia was created with Garden Notes Poinsettia dies.  I used GooseBumps spray to achieve the speckles on the petals and sponged on Tea Dye Distress Ink.  To complete this tag, I added a Gold Holly Peel Off  Sticker Border and Merry Christmas Stickers.

I have created two totally different tags using the other Ornament Set 5 die.  I will post it tomorrow.

Seasons Greetings

Today I have used two Elizabeth Craft Designs die sets I have not used before -- the Ornament Set 3 and the Four Bows dies.  Both the ornament and the bow have two die cut pieces.

Four Bows (798)
This is a picture of the Elizabeth Craft Designs Four Bows dies.  There are so many things you can create with this great die set.

The solid bottom die cu,t for both the bow and the ornament, were die cut using Soft Finish Cardstock with Clear Double sided Adhesive Tape on the back.  When the adhesive covering was pulled off, I added Cool  Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.  The two pieces were die cut using Silver Metallic Shimmer Sheetz.  I really like the look of the Diamond Glitter under the Silver die cut.   The ornament was glued to the card front.  Pieces of the Susan's Garden Notes Whitepine Bough were attached above the ornament, along with silver cording.   The Bow was attached with dimensional tape.

Susan's Garden Note Holiday Holly & Berry dies were used for the holly.  The beautiful "A Way With Words" Season's Greeting sentiment was die cut using Silver Glitter Cardstock.  Before die cutting, I attached a piece of Clear Double sided Adhesive Tape to the back so it would be easy to attach to the card.

The silver dots at the bottom of the card are "discards" from the die cut Bow - they were glued in the triangle design of the design paper.  Silver Peel-Off Sticker Corners were added to the top of the card.

Believe

I love how easy it is to create so many totally different Christmas cards using Susan's Garden Notes Poinsettia and Garden Notes Whitepine Bough & Pine Cone dies. This is a 6"x6" card.  I started by adding a piece of design paper to the front.  Today I used Susan's Pan Pastels to shade her Garden Notes Poinsettia petals.  The petals were die cut using red card stock, and shaped with Susan's Flower Tools.   After the petals were shaped,  I sponged on the Extra Dark Red PanPastel around the edges of the petals.  Next I sponged on Orange Shade PanPastel down the center vein of each petal.  Adding the PanPastels created dimension on the petals.

A strip of dark green card stock was cut a little wider than the A Way With Words - Believe die cut to help it show up well.  Both the Believe die cut and a piece of card stock under the green strip were cut using gold sparkle card stock.   The edges of the green strip were distressed before gluing to the gold card stock.

The poinsettia was attached with a dimensional glue dot.  Under the flower I added the Elizabeth Craft Designs Flourishes, also cut from gold sparkle card stock, and some of Susan's Garden Notes Whitepine Bough.  On the upper corners, I added ECD Gold Corner Peel-off Stickers.

Polar Bear Merry Christmas

Susan's CountryScapes - Critters 4 - Bear die is perfect to create either a masculine or a children's Christmas card.

I created a  stair-step card to show case this beautiful polar bear.  A piece of polka dot Navy blue design paper was attached to the center pane,l then Elizabeth Craft Designs Line Peel-off stickers framed it.  Several layers of snow banks were cut and glued together at the bottom of the card.  The Bear was die cut using Pearlized white card stock.  The nose, ear, eye and toenails were drawn in with a fine line black marker, then gray ink sponged around the outline of the bear.  He was attached with dimensional tape so he is walking up the snow bank.

This picture shows the finished card when opened all the way up.  The card stock was cut 12" long by 6" wide. I used a die cut star from Karen Burniston's Christmas Trees Pop Stand and Snowflakes from her Spiral Circle Pull Card.

This is the backside of the finished card.  You can see the stair step cuts.  Over on the right side, you can see the placement of the Elizabeth Craft Designs Stand Up "Snowflake" Helpers, and the Merry Christmas Stand Up Helper. I wanted to use the Snowflake Helpers to hold up the card.  I used the Merry Christmas Stand Up Helper so it could stand up (be dimensional) in front of the snowbank.

If you didn't want to use the Snowflake Stand Up Helpers, you could just use the Merry Christmas Stand Up Helper, and it would look like this picture.

Here is a side view of the card when placed in the Snowflake Stand Up Helpers.  This card will fold down flat for mailing.

Red and White Poinsettias

I was out shopping yesterday and noticed they already have real poinsettias in the stores.  I love to decorate with a variety of poinsettias. This is a 6"x6" card.  A piece of green gingham design paper was used for the background.

I created white poinsettias and one red poinsettia using Susan's Garden Notes Poinsettia dies.  Below the flowers I added Garden Notes Whitepine Bough and Elizabeth Craft Leaf & Berry Branch.  For the Berries on the Branch, I used Elizabeth Craft Designs Red Dot  Peel-off Stickers.

The beautiful sentiment is one of the A Way With Words die cuts.  It was die cut four times, using Soft Finish Cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on the back, then layered.  I love how stacking the die cut gives it a lot of dimension.  To finish the card, Red Line Peel-Off Stickers were attached around the edge of the design paper background to frame it.

Deck The Halls With Boughs of Holly

Before I tell you about my card, I want to tell you that no matter how many times I set the print with the margins on the left side, it always posts with the words centered. The margins look fine until I actually post my blog.  I have no idea why this started happening.  Has anyone else had this problem or know how I can fix it?????

Today I have a card designed using the Quietfire Creations "Deck The Halls" rubber stamp.  Susan's Garden Notes Holiday Holly & Berries were perfect to decorate above this pretty  stamped sentimentA few pine boughs were die cut using the  Garden Notes Whitepine Bough & Pine Cone dies and placed under the hollyFor additional holiday cheer, I used Susan's Garden Notes Poinsettia dies to create pretty poinsettias.

Along the bottom edge of the card, I added three rows of Elizabeth Craft Designs Peel-Off Line Stickers.  Line Stickers were also placed above and below the stamped sentiment.  In the upper right corner, I added an Elizabeth Craft Designs Gold Corner Peel-Off Sticker.   A red silk bow was added above the die cut holly to complete the card.

Decorated "Book" Box

I am still having fun decorating boxes for Christmas gifts. It doesn't always take a lot of work to dress up something to make it special.   I purchased a "book" box from the Craft Store and added dimensional flowers and a sparkly greeting, and love the dressed up box.

To give the box dimension,  I used Susan's Garden Notes Poinsettia and Whitepine Bough & Pine Cone dies to decorate the upper corner of this box.  A couple of the Elizabeth Craft Designs Berry Branch were die cut using Gold Metallic Shimmer Sheets and were added under the flowers.

The beautiful Quietfire Creations "A Way With Words" Merry Christmas was die cut using gold glitter card stock.  I used Gold Glitter Card Stock so it would show up well against the background.   It was glued to the box front.

This is a side view of the box.

On the inside of the box, I added another die cut Garden Notes Poinsettia.

This was a quick and easy project.  Just by adding Susan's die cut poinsettia and the Quietfire Greeting, it has really dressed up this box.

In All Things of Nature

Today I was going through my collection of Susan's Garden "Seeds Of Thought" Rubber Stamps and thought this stamp was perfect to combine with Bianca's Robin 2 - Flower Branch stamp. The stamped image was framed with one of the frames from the Fitted Frames 3 - Curvy Rectangles set.

The bird was stamped on 85 lb Soft White Cardstock.  This bird is called a Red-capped Robin which is native to Australia.  I think it is so pretty! The stamped image was colored with a combination of Copic Markers and Susan's PanPastels. The image was die cut using a circle die then an Elizabeth Craft Designs Line Peel-Off Sticker was attached around the edge.  The same line sticker was used around the green frame and the outside of the card.  Black Corner Peel-Off stickers were added at the top of the card.  There were black dots left (the negative portion) of the corner stickers.  I used them in the circle openings of the green frame.

Both Susan's Seeds Of Thought frame and the bird were attached with dimensional tape.  Elizabeth Craft Designs die cut Leafy Branch was added below the bird.

This card will be perfect for anyone with the love of nature!

Joyful Snowman

Winter is here!  We woke up to snow today.  I decided to work on another snowman card created with Susan's Garden Country Scapes dies.

This is a 6x6 inch card.  I used a piece of light blue design paper with white polka dots for the background.

The snowman was created with Garden Notes Build A Snowman dies.  The little blue bird was die cut from the CountryScapes Critters 2 die set.  To create the background scene, I used one of the CountryScapes - Woods 4 Holiday Evergreen tree.  The fence was built with two die cuts from the CountryScapes New England Stonewall & Gate die set.  The snow below the tree, fence and snowman were die cut from the CountryScapes Backyard 4 - Snow Decor die set.  The little die cut rabbit is from the CountryScapes - Critters 1 die set.

The "joy"  sentiment is from Quietfire Creations.  It was framed with one of the die cut frames from the Elizabeth Craft Designs Fitted Frames 4 - Curvy Squares.  To decorate the frame I used the evergreen branches and small poinsettia from the CountryScapes - Backyard 4 die set.  To finish the card, I used one of the small snowflake stamps from Bianca's Hedgehog Daisy Christmas stamp set.  The snow flakes were stamped with VersaMark Ink and white embossed.

Poinsettia Decorated Pillow Box

ECD-DT-Nov-2015-Box

Today I am sharing my design team post on the Elizabeth Craft Designs BlogI have another idea using Susan's Garden Notes holiday dies.  It is the time of year when we are starting to think of gift ideas.  Receiving a gift in a beautiful package is always exciting.  Today I will show you how I decorated this small gift box.

Use a template to create a Pillow Box out of cardstock.    There are many patterns on the Internet for Pillow boxes, or you can use the Memory Keepers Pillow Box Punch Board, which I used.  This is a 7-inch long Pillow Box.  To attach the sides to create the box, use ECD Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

For decoration, cut a band that will fit around the middle of the box.  The band on this box is 2 1/2 inches wide.   Add Viva Inka-Gold around the sides of the band.  Attach the end with ECD Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Using Susan's Garden Notes Poinsettia die, cut enough petals to make two poinsettias.  Shape the Poinsettias using Susan's Tool Kit.  I die cut the petals using 85 lb Soft Finish Cardstock and colored them with a Copic RV11 marker.    The bracts of the poinsettia were created using Viva Yellow and Green Paper Pens.

Die cut six poinsettia leaves.  I used 85 lb Soft Finish Cardstock and sponged leaves with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink.  Inka Gold was rubbed around the edges.

Die cut 8 to 10 Susan's Garden Notes Whitepine Boughs.  Glue the pine boughs to the top of the box, then add the poinsettias with dimensional glue dots.  If you haven't glued the green leaves to the underside of the poinsettia, glue them over the Whitepine Boughs so they show well around the poinsettias.

Create a bow using gold cord and tuck it under the edge of the poinsettias; this will tie in the gold on both ends of the box.  Use Elizabeth Craft Christmas Peel Off Stickers for the Sentiment.

A beautifully decorated pillow box is perfect for any small gift, including money.   What do you think - maybe this beautiful gift box will be treasured as much, if not more, than the gift inside!!!

Season's Greetings

I love the bird stamps by Bianca Petroschi that are available from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  This is a Titmouse on a branch of winter berries, which is perfect for a Christmas card.

 Titmouse (RS024) Size 2.5" X 3"

The bird was stamped using gray ink on Elizabeth Craft Designs Soft Finish Cardstock and colored with a mixture of watercolor pencils and Copic markers.  A detailed fine point black marker was used to go in and add detail.  The stamped image was cut out.    For dimension, I added Faber Castell Whipped Spackle to the snow, which is in the stamped image, then sprinkled it with diamond glitter.  The berries were also glittered.

Before attaching the bird to the card, I scored around the edges of the front of the card,  then sponged on Tea Dye Distress Ink behind where the bird would be placed.  A few of Susan's Garden Notes Whitepine Boughs were added behind the bird, then it was attached with dimensional glue dots.

The beautiful sentiment is one of the Quietfire "A Way With Words" sentiments.  It was die cut using glitter card stock.  To complete the card, a strip of Elizabeth Craft Line Peel Off Stickers was attached at the bottom and two corner Peel Off Stickers added at the top.

Poinsettia with Holly

I love to decorate with Holly at Christmas time.    Today I designed a card useing Susan's Garden Notes Holiday Holly & Berries dies, along with her Garden Notes Poinsettia and Garden Notes Whitepine Bough & Pine Cone dies.

Susan has a video at this LINK to show you how to make her Holly die cuts very realistic.  I have made many holly leaves using Susan's technique, and love the look.    I decided to create the holly a little different today; I used white glossy card stock, shaped the leaves with Susan's Flower Tool Kit, then colored them with a green marker, leaving the edges white.  Next I sponged on a very light tan ink over the white edges.  I love the way Susan shows us to make dimensional berries.  When these Holiday Holly & Berries are completed, they look so real!

Two red poinsettia were created with Susan's Garden Notes Poinsettia dies.  Below the arrangement, I added a few of Susan's Garden Notes Whitepine Boughs.

The beautiful sentiment is one of the Quietfire, A Way With Words" die cut sentiments.  The sentiment was die cut using ECD 100 lb Soft Finish Cardstock, that was attached to Elizabeth Craft Clear Double Sided Tape.  The adhesive covering was pulled off and sprinkled with ECD True Red Silk Microfine Glitter.

Under the sentiment, I added the ECD Holly Border.  For the berries, I used Susan's instructions to create dimensional berries.  Elizabeth Craft Designs Line and  Corner Peel-off Stickers were used to complete the card.

Let It Snow

Today I have another snowman card.  I do not like to "exactly" copy someone else's work, but I love to draw inspiration from them.  On Els van de Burgt Studio, on Facebook,  Els shows how to create a cute snowman card using her Snowman Peel Off Stickers.  Here is the LINK so you can see how she adds Silk Microfine Glitter to these cute snowmen.  I bet you will be inspired to create this card too!

This is a picture of Els card.  It is so cute I was excited to create one similar. To create this card, you need the Elizabeth Craft Snowman in Frame  Peel Off Stickers.  Below I will show you how I created my snowman card.

o

I wanted a black frame around each of the four snowmen.  I used Susan's Garden Patch 1 1/2 Inch Garden Patch frame.  I die cut the frame using white card stock with Elizabeth Craft Clear Double Sided Tape on the the top.  This die cuts the squares I needed to attach the snowman stickers. Be sure you have the die facing down on the Adhesive.  Once die cut, you need to pull off the adhesive covering on each square, so the adhesive side is up, so you can add the glitter.

Two black frames were die cut.  These had the Clear Double Sided Adhesive attached to the back.  In this picture the frame is laying over the adhesive, just so you know to use the adhesive -- but you want to die cut the frame with the die facing the black card stock.  The two frames will be attached to each other for height - this is easy to do when using the double-sided adhesive on the back. When ready, the  bottom frame will be attached to the card.

In this picture, you can see the that the snowmen have been attached to the white card stock die cut squares.  If you watch Els video, you will see how to add Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter on everything except the face of the snowman. Then she shows you how to add White Silk Microfine Glitter to the face.  You will be coloring everthing except the white face of the snowman.

I have my snowmen ready to color with Copic Markers and here I show the snowman squares inside the Garden Patch frame.  The frame has six squares so I used the Elizabeth Craft Scissors to snip off the bottom row.

Cut off the bottom section and now you have the four squares to frame the snowmen.  If you have doubled the frame, the snowmen squares fit down inside each square.  You might need to trim a small portion off around the sticker frame of the snowman.

I used several layers of white card stock on the front of this card.  The layer right under the snowman frame was embossed with the Lots of Dots Embossing Folder.  To make the dots shine, I rubbed the VersaMark Pad over the dots then brushed on Interference Blue Pearl Ex Pigment, then lightly sprayed with hair spray to seal it.  The Quietfire Creations "Let It Snow" stamp was used below the frames.  I scored lines around the edge of this piece and three lines at the bottom.  There is another, slightly larger piece of card stock behind the embossed piece.  The outside edges were scored then using a Tim Holtz Ruler, punched holes next to the scoring.  All layers were attached with dimensional tape.

For the large black frame, I used Els Fitted Frames 4 - Curvy Squares.  On each corner of the black frame, I added a silver Peel-off Snowflake stickers.

You will find a lot more inspiration on YouTube using Elizabeth Craft Designs products at this LINK.
